Co-op is very beneficial if you use your work-terms strategically to find your strengths and weaknesses. I wanted to gain work experience and figure out what I wanted to do before I leave university. It helped me narrow down my options to the career I would like to go further into. It taught me foundations of business in real life, I expected it to be a normal routine task but everyday I was doing something different and learning a lot more every time I walked in.

Thoughts on Co-op?
Very beneficial if you use your work-terms strategically to find your strengths and weaknesses. I wanted to gain work experience and figure out what I wanted to do before i leave university. It helped me narrow down my options to the career I would like to go further into.

How was your first Co-op placement?
I worked at a start-up and it gave me the foundations of what makes a business succeed before it blows up into a multinational corporation. Each company started up small and I saw the passion, ideas bouncing around and innovative individuals who were putting a lot of effort to make the company grow big.

Was it what you expected?
It taught me foundations of business in real life, I expected it to be a normal routine task but everyday I was doing something different and learning a lot more everytime I walked in.

Do you think it has helped you improve as a person or better guide you in life?
Yes definitely helped me improve as it showed how much effort it actually takes to be successful and taught me ropes of multiple career fields.

Any advice for other students in Co-op?
Don’t be afraid to get out of your comfort zone and try different things. That is what co-op is for; to help you expand your horizon and network.
